Understanding Wild Rift’s storage size and device requirements
While the full PC version of League of Legends isn’t available on mobile, Riot’s mobile spin-off, League of Legends: Wild Rift, offers a fast, optimized experience built for phones and tablets. So how much space does it really take?
Wild Rift: Not the Same as League PC
League of Legends: Wild Rift is a standalone mobile game, not a port of the PC version. It features:
- A touch-optimized control scheme
- Shorter match times (10–15 minutes)
- A reworked champion roster
Because of this, Wild Rift is more lightweight — but still requires decent storage.
Current Storage Requirements

As of 2025, Wild Rift requires approximately:
- 2.5–3.5 GB download from the app store
- Up to 6–8 GB total once installed, including assets, patches, and updates
The total can vary based on:
- Device type (Android vs iOS)
- Graphics settings
- Downloaded champion skins and map data
How to Reduce Storage Use
- Delete unused skins via the in-game storage menu
- Keep auto-update off to prevent patch bloat
- Install on external storage if your phone supports it
Wild Rift is much lighter than most AAA mobile titles, making it accessible even on mid-tier devices.
