What were once known as agent contracts are now part of the Agent Gear system, which allows players to unlock characters with in-game currency and earn exclusive cosmetics tied to each agent.

- Go to the Agents Tab
From Valorant’s main menu, open the Agents tab or head to the in-game store. - Choose Your Agent
Find the locked agent you want to add to your roster and click “Activate Contract” (sometimes labeled “Connect”). - Earn or Spend Currency
- Unlock with Kingdom Credits (KC): Accumulate 8,000 KC by playing matches, completing daily or weekly missions, and winning rounds across any official mode—including Competitive, Swiftplay, Spike Rush, or Team Deathmatch.
- Unlock instantly with Valorant Points (VP): Purchase the agent immediately for 1,000 VP via the shop.
- Level Agent Gear
After unlocking, activate that agent’s Gear track to continue earning themed cosmetics such as sprays, titles, player cards, and weapon skins. Progression is fueled by match XP and Kingdom Credits.
Key Changes to the Unlock System
Riot Games shifted away from the old contract system to make progression more flexible and transparent:
- Agent unlocks are now currency-based instead of being tied to lengthy contract grinds.
- Gear tracks replace contracts, ensuring that cosmetics are earned after an agent is unlocked, not during the recruitment process.
- Recruitment events now give new agents a cheaper unlock path—just 1,000 KC if you complete the event within 28 days of their release.
