Unlocking color variants to customize your champions
Chroma skins are color-swapped variations of existing skins in League of Legends, allowing players to add a personalized touch to their favorite champions. But how do you get them?
What Are Chromas?
Chromas are cosmetic variations of an existing skin that:
- Change the color scheme of the model and/or particles
- Do not affect gameplay
- Must be applied on top of a skin you already own
For example, if you own Project: Zed, you can use a blue or gold chroma to alter his appearance during matches.
Ways to Get Chroma Skins
- Buy Them from the Store
- Chromas cost 290 RP each
- Must own the base skin first
- Event Passes & Loot Orbs
- Some chromas are exclusive to events
- Can be unlocked using event tokens or pulled from loot orbs
- Bundle Deals
- Riot sometimes offers bundles that include a skin + all chromas
- Prestige Chromas
- Rare and limited-time
- Usually cost more and come with thematic rewards
Can You Unlock Chromas with Blue Essence?
No, chromas cannot be bought with Blue Essence. They are RP-exclusive or earned through event progression.
