Gifting in League of Legends is a simple yet powerful way to connect with friends, celebrate moments, or say thanks after a clutch play. Whether you’re rewarding your favorite support, surprising a new player, or just feeling generous, the gifting system in the League client allows you to send skins, champions, RP, and more directly to others.
To get started, you’ll need to log in to the League of Legends client and navigate to the in-game store, located in the top-right corner. Once inside the store, look for the small gift box icon in the upper navigation bar. Clicking this icon takes you to the gifting center, where you can choose a friend from your list and select the type of gift you’d like to send.
There are a few basic requirements to keep in mind before sending a gift. You and your friend must have been on each other’s friend list for at least 24 hours. Both accounts also need to be at least level 10, and your account must not have any recent penalties like chat restrictions or bans. Additionally, you’ll need enough Riot Points (RP) in your balance to complete the gift.
The types of gifts you can send are varied and often tied to current events in the game. These include:
- skins your friend doesn’t already own
- champions that haven’t been unlocked yet
- Riot Points in selectable bundles
- mystery gifts, which grant a random champion or skin
- ward skins, emotes, and event loot when available
However, not everything is giftable. You cannot gift:
- content not currently listed in the store
- blue essence or other non-purchasable currencies
- chromas outside of bundled events
- gifts to anyone who has disabled gifting in their settings
Once you’ve selected a gift, you’ll have the chance to include a personal message. After confirming the purchase, your friend will receive the gift almost instantly. If it doesn’t appear right away, a quick client restart usually solves the issue.
Sending gifts in League isn’t just about cosmetics—it’s about building community, celebrating friendships, and adding a little extra joy to the game.
