Riot’s Premier mode—Valorant’s in-game competitive tournament system—was first introduced in open beta as a way to bridge ranked play and professional esports. Alongside the new format came a unique reward: the Premier Beta Participation Player Card, a collectible cosmetic celebrating early adopters who tested the mode during its trial run.
Steps to Unlock the Premier Beta Card
Securing the card was refreshingly simple, though it did require players to meet eligibility and enrollment requirements during the beta stage. Here’s how the process worked:
- Account status: Your Valorant account needed to be in good standing, free from active bans or ranked restrictions.
- Verification: Players had to complete SMS verification in the Premier Hub and finish their ranked placement games if not already done.
- Team enrollment: Joining or creating a Premier team and signing up for the active beta stage was required.
- Match participation: Playing at least one Premier match during the open beta period was the key condition. Once completed, the card was automatically triggered for unlock.
Who Could Earn the Card?
The reward was designed to be inclusive. Every player who participated in at least one Premier Beta match—regardless of performance or outcome—received both the Premier Beta Player Card and a participation title.

For those who went further, winning a Premier Beta tournament unlocked additional “Champions” rewards. However, the base beta card remained available to anyone who simply took part in a single game.
Delivery and Collection
Riot streamlined the delivery process. No codes, applications, or manual claims were necessary. Players who qualified saw the Premier Beta card added automatically to their in-game Collection—usually the day after completing their first match. From there, it could be equipped like any other player card.
A Badge of Early Participation
The Valorant Premier Beta card stands out as more than just a cosmetic. It represents a moment in the game’s competitive evolution—when Riot first tested a mode designed to bridge the gap between ranked queues and esports tournaments.
For those who participated, the card now serves as a permanent reminder of being part of Valorant’s competitive history from the ground floor. And while new Premier seasons bring fresh rewards, the Beta card remains a unique keepsake reserved for those who helped shape the mode in its earliest days.
